Composite Panel structure

Panel Structure

A composite panel is built as a five-layer sandwich: skin — adhesive — core — adhesive — skin. The logic mirrors that of a structural I-beam — the two face skins handle bending and in-plane loads, while the core in between resists shear forces.

Skins are the outermost faces of the panel and bear the greatest structural demand, making material selection especially important. Adhesive layers bond each skin to the core. Core occupies the space between the two adhesive layers and, despite typically being lightweight and lower in density, plays a decisive role in the panel's overall performance. Its thickness is what gives the sandwich its bending stiffness.

    Panel Options

LVMA offers a wide range of options for customers. You can choose the suitable skin materials, surface treatment, adhesive, and core based on your specific application. For all other requirements, please contact us.

    Standard Panels

We offer a wide range of versatile standard panels, with standard sizes of 48 inches x 96 inches and a maximum size of 48 inches x 144 inches. Multiple thicknesses are available for customization and selection. Custom sizes and shapes can be tailored to meet your specific needs.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • What is a composite panel?

A composite panel consists of two metal layers and a core layer, usually made of foam insulation. Known for being lightweight yet strong, composite panels are ideal for applications requiring structural support and thermal insulation. Common types include Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP) and Honeycomb Structure Panels.
