We utilize the hot-chamber die-casting process to manufacture aluminum alloy LED housings for our clients. Housings made from aluminum alloy typically feature a smooth surface and offer enhanced durability. The following outlines our production steps.

Basically, we take an aluminum alloy – usually ADC12 – and melt it down to about 650°C. Then we shoot it into a steel mold under high pressure. Real fast. That way, the metal gets into all those little fins and thin walls. You need that for an aluminium housing for LED lights, because the fins are what pull the heat away.

The mold opens after maybe 30 to 60 seconds. Pop the part out, trim off the extra bits – the flash, runners, that stuff. The leftover aluminum just goes back into the next batch. No waste.
Sometimes we drill a few holes or tap threads after casting. Depends on the design. For outdoor lights, we usually add a powder coat or anodizing, so it doesn't corrode.
That's pretty much it. Solid, lightweight, and it won't cook your LEDs.

Aluminum Die Casting Processing Service

  • Aluminum die casting forces molten aluminum alloy into a mold under high pressure. This process produces parts in high volumes at low costs.
  • Aluminum die casting includes two processes: hot chamber and cold chamber. These two processes are used for different types of aluminum alloys.
  • A complete cycle can take anywhere from one second for a small component to several minutes for a large part. This makes aluminum die casting one of the fastest techniques available for producing precise aluminum alloy parts.
  • All aluminum die casting parts are customized according to the client's drawing or samples.
  • Certification is provided according to the customer's requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q What aluminum alloy is typically used for LED light housings?
We primarily use ADC12 aluminum alloy, which is melted to approximately 650°C before being injected into the steel mold. ADC12 offers excellent fluidity, dimensional stability, and thermal conductivity — all critical properties for LED housing applications.
Q What is the difference between hot chamber and cold chamber die casting?
Hot chamber die casting is used for lower melting-point alloys and features a faster cycle, as the injection mechanism is submerged in the molten metal. Cold chamber die casting is suited for higher melting-point alloys like aluminum, where the molten metal is ladled into the chamber separately before injection.
Q Can aluminum die casting parts be customized to our design?
Yes. All aluminum die casting parts are fully customized according to the client's drawings or samples. We also get involved early in the design process to provide professional advice on process feasibility, cost optimization, and functional solutions.
Q What surface treatments are available for outdoor LED housings?
For outdoor applications, we typically apply powder coating or anodizing to the aluminum housing. Both treatments significantly improve corrosion resistance and extend the product's service life in harsh environmental conditions.
Q How long does one die casting cycle take?
A complete die casting cycle can take anywhere from one second for small components to several minutes for larger parts. This makes aluminum die casting one of the fastest and most efficient methods for producing high-precision aluminum alloy components in large volumes.
Q Do you provide quality certifications for your die casting parts?
Yes. Certifications are provided in accordance with customer requirements. Our quality control process covers manufacturing process design, quality planning, key production steps, and final inspection — all managed in-house to ensure consistent product quality for both domestic and international markets.
